特异性 STIM1 Rabbit Recombinant mAb detects endogenous level of total STIM1.
背景 Stromal interaction molecules (STIM) were identified as the endoplasmic-reticulum (ER) Ca2+ sensor controlling store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) and Ca2+-release-activated Ca2+ (CRAC) channels in non-excitable cells. STIM1 is predominantly located in the ER, the main intracellular Ca2+ store. The ER-resident STIM1 controls Orai function by activating these channels upon ER Ca2+-store depletion. While the role of SOCE is well established in T cells and other non-excitable cells, it is becoming clear that SOCE may play a very important role in skeletal-muscle physiology, ranging from roles in development, differentiation, contractile function and resistance against fatigue. STIM1 plays a central role in these processes by controlling SOCE channels, like Orai1 and/or TRPCs in a rapid and highly regulated fashion.
