体外研究 ZM 241385对A2a受体具有高亲和力。在大鼠嗜铬细胞瘤细胞膜上，ZM 241385置换NECA（5'-N-ethylcarboxamidoadenosine），pIC50为9.52。ZM241385推迟缺氧去极化的出现（缺氧去极化与细胞损伤、死亡相关）、避免突触活性降低、保护CA1神经元和星形胶质细胞，使其免受伤害。
体内研究 ZM-241385显著减弱CCPA和NECA的降压作用，而不改变它们所诱导的心动过缓的现象。它能抑制腺苷受体受体激动剂（CCPA和NECA）的心肌保护作用。
